IMPEL National Peer Review Initiative Project

The project aims at setting the basis for the development of autonomous Peer Review activities in National Networks of Environmental Authorities and Agencies. It can be used as an instrument to improve own performances through dialog, collaborative confrontation and sharing of good practices among the peers belonging to the same network. The NPRI has been recognised as a powerful tool to support the implementation of the EU ECA initiative, in particular because of its potential to apply good and best practices and its contribution to harmonisation in the execution of tasks and responsibilities by authorities. The NPRI project involves 20 institutions from 15 European countries that are part of IMPEL.

Conference: Exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution was organised by the Italian Government and Carabinieri, in cooperation with European Commission, DG ENV, through the Directorate for Zero Pollution and Green Cities, in the European Parliament on 7 February 2023 in Brussels. The Conference concentrated on the remediation of landfills and exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution. In the midst of the implementation of the European Green Deal and in light of the 2021 Zero Pollution Action Plan, the purpose of the Conference was to shed light on lessons learnt so far and facilitate exchanges of views with other relevant enforcement actors. The Board of IMPEL, gave a speech at the conference to present perspectives on multi agency cooperation environmental enforcement efforts being carried out by authorities, between and within IMPEL member countries.

Проект IMPEL з підтримки впровадження СВП організував спільну інспекцію на целюлозно-паперовому заводі у Швеції Робоча група з інспектування та запобігання вибухонебезпечним предметам у промисловості та повітряному просторі організувала свою 14-ту спільну інспекцію на целюлозно-паперовому заводі у Швеції 8-9 грудня 2022 року. Це була перша спільна інспекція після Корона. До інспекції долучилися інспектори зі Швеції, Нідерландів та Фінляндії, а також інспектор з Великої Британії, який брав участь у підготовці.

Проект IMPEL з утилізації суден має на меті покращити співпрацю між природоохоронними та морськими органами, що задіяні у цій сфері. Різне законодавство ЄС та пов'язані з ним повноваження ускладнюють імплементацію, нагляд та правозастосування. Для запобігання нелегальним перевезенням будуть розроблені методичні матеріали для органів влади та інших зацікавлених сторін, а також організовано підвищення кваліфікації інспекторів та інших зацікавлених сторін. Крім того, буде вивчатися співпраця з іншими установами, агентствами, мережами в ЄС та за його межами, а також з неурядовими організаціями.
