Use of technology in regulation

This document is the final report of the IMPEL “Inspecting Using Copernicus and UAV Data” (iCUD) project, which explored the use of Copernicus services and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) data for environmental inspections in European Union countries. The project, led by Portugal, involved a survey of IMPEL members, a kick-off meeting, a workshop, and a presentation at the INSPIRE Conference. The report highlights the potential of these technologies for enhancing environmental monitoring and enforcement, but also notes the need for increased technical knowledge and addressing legal constraints related to data acquisition and use as evidence.
