IMPEL TFS-Asia Collaboration/ 2012
This report summarizes the annual meeting of the Asian Network for Prevention of Illegal Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes in 2011. The meeting, attended by IMPEL TFS Steering Committee members, focused on topics including environmentally sound management (ESM) of hazardous waste, outcomes of the Basel Convention's COP10, and international cooperation. A proposal for information exchange on waste movements and ESM facilities was planned.

This document summarizes the 2012 joint workshop of the Asian Network for Prevention of Illegal Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes and the Regional Enforcement Network for Chemicals and Waste (Project REN). The main topics discussed were e-waste and ESM, enforcement activities, take-back issues, and improving collaboration between networks. IMPEL TFS significantly contributed to the discussions on collaboration and verification procedures.

This report summarizes the 2013 joint meeting of the Asian Network for Prevention of Illegal Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes, the Environmental Network for Optimizing Regulatory Compliance on Illegal Traffic (ENFORCE), and Project REN. The key discussions revolved around e-waste and ESM, border controls, multi-agency cooperation, illegal cases, and take-back challenges. IMPEL-TFS actively participated in the discussions on national and network collaboration and return shipments.
