Enforcement Actions-II/ 2011
Through joint inspections and exchange programs, the project sought to achieve a more adequate level of inspections across EU member states and improve international collaboration and knowledge sharing on waste shipment regulations. The project included 25 EU Member States and 7 other European countries, with 29 countries conducting inspections. Over 26,000 transports were inspected, and over 800 violations were identified. Enforcement Actions-I/ 2008
The IMPEL-TFS Enforcement Actions I Project, conducted from September 2006 to June 2008, focused on improving the enforcement of the European Waste Shipment Regulation. The project involved 22 EU Member States and 3 other European countries and included joint inspections, exchange programs for inspectors, and development of enforcement tools and guidelines. Over 13,700 transports were inspected, revealing that 16% were transfrontier shipments of waste, and 15% of those shipments were in violation of the regulation.
