JoNeF final meeting with site visit in Thessaloniki, 23-24 October 2024

On October 23 and 24, the JoNeF project team convened in Thessaloniki for their third and final in-person meeting. With 14 team members attending on-site and others joining remotely, the event marked an important milestone in the project’s development.

JoNeF at IMC12 in Maastricht, August 11-15, 2024

On August 11-15, 2024, the 12th International Mycological Congress (IMC12) took place in Maastricht, Netherlands.

IMPEL  JoNeF project and survey report were presented during Workshop 06, 'Advancing fungal conservation'. The abstract can be downloaded here

During workshop the goals and targets for a much-needed Global Strategy for Fungal Conservation has been introduced and discussed. The Strategy will be roughly analogous to the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation that has helped guide plant conservation action and funding for the past 20+ years.

JoNeF Site Visit in Bucharest, 12 July 2024

On 22, 23 and 24 June 2024, the JoNeF project team met in Bucharest to carry out, in hybrid mode, the second meeting in person. The meeting was held during the IMPEL Nature Protection Expert Team meeting. On June 23, the team held a site visit to the “Comana Natural Park”.

The working meetings were attended by 13 experts in-person.  

Focus of the meeting was the Guidance drafting.

IMPEL Joint Network of Wild Fungi (JoNeF) Site Visit in Rome

On 29, 30 November and 1 December 2023, ISPRA hosted at its headquarters in Rome, the JoNeF project team to carry out, in hybrid mode, the first meeting in person.

On November 28, the experts of IMPEL and ISPRA, held a site visit to the “Circeo Nazional Park" where, together with the collaboration of the Park Authority and the Roman mycological association AMER, also used the app created by ISPRA for the collection of mycological data within the Network for the study of mycological diversity (NDM).

The working meetings were attended by 10 experts in-person and 4 connected online, from 10 IMPEL member countries.  

Focus of the meeting were the Questionnaire results and the Survey Report to be released on February 2024.
