IMPEL recognises the success of the ten Operation Demeter campaigns that have taken place since 2009. This initiative from the World Customs Organization (WCO) has been instrumental in mobilising customs authorities in the fight against illegal shipments of waste, wildlife and ozone-depleting substances. IMPEL members have played a significant role in joint inspections with their customs counterparts and training. We look forward to joining forces with WCO and national authorities during the upcoming operation Demeter XI.
