Executive Summary
These series of seminars organised by France are focused on the examination of past accidents which have had an impact on the environment can be useful for several purposes. It can help to improve organisations concerned with prevention and the equipment they use, to evaluate the consequences of potential accidents, to develop strategies to combat accidents, to identify new weak spots and to estimate the cost of accidents.
Project description
This is the report of the 8th seminar on industrial accidents organised for the 4th time within the scope of the European IMPEL network in Dijon in June 2002.
In total 16 industrial accidents (in France, U.K., The Netherlands and Belgium) – are described, illustrating the installation, the accident and consequences in detail, origin, causes and circumstances of the accident and the action taken.
