ABOUT IMPEL

The Clusters

Clusters are established and discontinued by the General Assembly. Currently there are three Clusters: the Cluster “Improving permitting, inspection & enforcement”, the Cluster “Transfrontier Shipments of Waste (TFS)” and the Cluster “Better regulation (practicability and enforceability)”. A Cluster explores, develops and discusses proposals for new projects. It reviews ongoing projects and monitors the implementation of the IMPEL working programmes. It provides advice on draft reports and the follow-up of completed projects.

The Cluster Permitting, inspection & enforcement focuses on organisational, legal, practical and technical aspects of permitting, inspection and enforcement.

cluster 2
The IMPEL TFS Cluster aims at improving the enforcement of the EU Regulation on Shipments of Waste.

cluster 3
The Better Regulation Cluster has as objective to help ensure that existing and proposed European Environmental Legislation is practicable and enforceable.
